1A2. generally, the "supplied" versus "formal" isn't confusing, but it is a bit confusing in 1A2. where it says title and date "must be supplied if they do not appear on the manuscript or other sources." It reminds me of a problem with the current Graphic Materials rules (the ones we're replacing with DCRM(G)) where it says something like "alternatively, use any source" which makes it sound like you could write the answer you want on a piece of paper and use that. It's clarified a bit in the next paragraph (1A3.) where it says that you can use "any reliable reference source" but then muddied 
again in 1B2. where it talks about titles from housing, which isn't really a "reference source". Or is "reference source" a broader term than I'm used to? - RESOLVED BECAUSE AREA WHERE REFERENCE SOURCES WERE ADDRESSED WAS IN AREA 0. CONSIDER MOVING REFERENCE SOURCES DISCUSSION TO AREA 1.

KSM 3/2010: I suggest keeping instructions on reference sources in Area 0 since they apply to most areas.

1A4/1A5: “Versus”? DCRM(B)/(S) uses “vs.” in the Introduction. But, is that really the word you want to use here? I acknowledge the need to explain the differences (which can certainly be done also in the glossary), but maybe 1A4 could be simply “Titles” and 1A5 could be “Creators”? In 1A5 the “versus” really doesn’t make sense.  Maybe 1A5.1 could be “Creator as part of title proper” or “Creator as part of devised title” and 1A5.2 could be “Formal statements of responsibility”.

1A4. The first time I read this section, I thought the examples were not particularly illuminating since the instructions for assigning devised and formal titles had not been given yet. However, I was not bothered by the examples in 1A5 which is a similar situation, so perhaps they are helpful – or perhaps examples that better illustrate the difference could be found? KEEPING    

1A4 -- Perhaps reverse the order of “devised titles” and “formal titles.” I wonder if it makes more sense logically to discuss formal titles first and then talk about devised titles? - KEEP CURRENT ORDER.
